Terms of Use for Mirror

Last updated: October 7, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Mirror (“the app”), developed by Ian Kiprotich, an individual developer based in Kenya. By downloading, installing, or using Mirror, you agree to these Terms.

What Mirror is

Mirror is a personal screen-time insight and friction tool. It uses Apple’s Screen Time APIs, with your permission, to show you patterns in your device usage and to offer a brief pause or daily limit before opening apps you’ve chosen. Mirror is a self-monitoring tool for your own device — it is not a parental control product and does not manage or restrict another person’s device.

Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract to use Mirror. If you are using Mirror on a device managed by a parent or guardian through Apple’s Family Sharing, please make sure you have their permission.

Your account and data

Mirror does not require you to create an account. All data Mirror generates (history, settings, your answers) is stored locally on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy. Purchases are the exception: they are processed and recorded by Apple. You are responsible for your device and for keeping it secure.

Screen Time permissions

Mirror requires you to grant Screen Time authorization through Apple’s system permission dialog for its core features to work. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device’s Settings app; doing so will limit or disable Mirror’s features.

Mirror Premium

After you set Mirror up, using it requires Mirror Premium. Mirror Premium is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.

Refunds

Purchases are made through Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Purchase records are kept by Apple.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

No guarantee of accuracy

Mirror’s insights (peak usage times, pickup counts, session lengths) are derived from Apple’s Screen Time framework and are provided for informational and self-awareness purposes. Due to inherent limitations and timing characteristics of Apple’s underlying APIs (for example, brief delays before a shield or limit takes effect), Mirror cannot guarantee perfectly instantaneous enforcement or perfectly precise figures. Mirror is a wellness aid, not a medical, therapeutic, or clinically validated tool.

Disclaimer of warranties

Mirror is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Mirror will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ian Kiprotich shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use Mirror.

Changes to the app and these Terms

We may update Mirror and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Mirror after changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be noted within the app where practical.

Termination

You may stop using Mirror at any time by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription; cancel it in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. We reserve the right to discontinue Mirror or any of its features at our discretion.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
